CHAMBER MEMBER NEWS
BLACK HISTORY MONTH
The NE Chamber will be helping to celebrate the African American businesses in the Northeast starting with Ted’s Barber Shop 2531 Independence Blvd. KCMO 64123 816-241-2700. Ted Davis was one of the first African American to open a shop on the Avenue. We will be helping him to host an After Hours at his business in February. We are asking our other African American members to join in on this opportunity to network and enjoy local appetizers. We want to meet you ! Look in your e-mail inbox or our web site for details of the date and time.
The R-G Federal Credit Union on Independence Blvd. has closed its office in Northeast. The Credit union has gone through a number of name and locations in Northeast. Maybe you remember Holy Cross Credit Union, Northeast Credit Union, Missouri Family Credit Union, Missouri Family Federal Credit Union and lastly the R-G Federal Credit Union. The Board of Directors made the determination to close the Independence Blvd. branch on December 31. This was a very difficult decision and they are continuing to work with members in the area to provide for their financial needs. They have purchased land on Noland Road and are in the process of planning for a new facility in that area. They will have drive-up and ATM services at that location. Many Northeast credit union members use their Independence Branch at 3437 South Noland Road Indep. Mo 64055. 816-254-9055
We are glad to see that R-G FCU is still a Chamber member serving the Northeast community.

POCKET DIRECTORY
Information for the pocket directory is ready for print. We had a number of new last minute Minority, Ethnic or Refugee businesses that signed up this month. (This is a good thing) We wanted to include them which make the distribution date a little later than planned. We should have it out by the end of this Month.
Members and businesses on the US postal mailing list will receive one. More are available on request at our Chamber office or at our two Banks. Central Bank of Kansas City and UMB Bank or office location.
Please let us know how many you want to have at your place of business.
Don’t Forget to USE the GOLD COUPON PAGES.
