Directory ad deadline is upon us. Please look at reverse side of the newsletter for inclusion in the Fall publication. You are also getting information in this newsletter a packet on rejoining the Chamber and/or passing that information on to a new prospective member. We will be making calls to past ad holders and want our newer members to also take advantage of the exposure your business can receive. Residents really like and use the locator map that has been in there the last 3 years.
There is a flyer on locating your business in Northeast and the HNE Loyalty sticker. Both the Northeast News and one of our board members, Scott Wagner, are promoting a Shop-in-Northeast campaign using the stickers. The enclosed stickers are FREE for the interior of your store. You can get additional window stickers from the Northeast news at 816-241-0765.
In an effort to build stronger businesses and communities, the Chamber is taking a lead on developing a loyalty program that will help create awareness for doing business and supporting the Historic Northeast. When you see or show this HNE sticker you'll be showing your support for the place you do business and/or live. We hope you'll post this somewhere prominently, whether at your home, business or vehicle. Government Relations Committee - Beginning in September, members will have an opportunity to see their elected officials monthly as the Chamber's Government Relations Committee, chaired by Scott Wagner, will meet on the first Friday of the month at 8 AM. The location is still to be determined but the Chamber hopes you'll take this opportunity to be in front of our elected officials. Contact Scott Wagner 816-756-7272.

Lunch and Learn rescheduled.
Mini workshops are being planned for our August and September luncheon meetings. Our July workshop was postponed due to a change in schedule. We will be working with Business Coach Dottie Jacobi to present informative workshops on business topics programs and services

Sheffield / Second Chance Fashion Show
Friday August 15th 7PM at Sheffield Family Life Center the City Union Mission's Second Chance thrift store will be presenting a fashion show. This is a chance to actually see some of the high quality low cost clothing sold at the Second Chance thrift stores. Learn about the fun and excitement happening at Sheffield with programs such as kick boxing, career development, gourmet cooking, youth, singles groups, and activities for people of all ages. Free gifts, opportunities to buy the clothes you see, a raffle, after show reception, GREAT music, and much more planned for this unique evening. This Forum will be sponsored by the League of Women Voters, the Northeast Chamber of Commerce and hosted by Scuola Vita Nuova at 544 Wabash, July 24 from 7 to 8:30 pm.
Candidates John Joseph Rizzo and John Patrick Burnett will be up for the Democratic State Representative seat.
