July 22, Tuesday 6;30 pm, Candidate Forum for the 40th District candidates.  This forum will be conducted by the League of Women voters, the NE Chamber and hosted by KC’s Grace Church of the Nazarene, 4300 Independence Ave. KCMO 64124. Church # 816-231-5138.  This is open to the public.

 


Welcome to the Second Annual International Business Crawl on Wednesday July 28th 2010. The Northeast Kansas City Chamber of Commerce invites all businesses along Independence Ave and area residents to celebrate Historic Northeast's International Market Place!

Here is how it works:
Participating businesses between Gladstone Blvd and Wabash Ave will display their home country's flag in front of the stores to mark their location and attract new customers.
Passports and maps will be available at each participating business. You can start at any location that afternoon between 2pm-5pm.
Customers will bring their "Travel the World" passport to the shops to have it stamped. Customers who complete their passport will get special prizes and can taste foods from around the world at an After Hour mixer. See details below.

Timeline:

12pm-1:30pm---Luncheon at Sabor Centro Americano
2661 Independence Ave Kansas City, MO
Guests at this lunch will include candidates for the 40th District
John Joseph Rizzo (D) and William Royster (D)
Please RSVP for Lunch ($15)

2pm-5pm---Business Crawl
Wabash to Gladstone Blvd (look for the flags in front of the shops)
2:30pm--Ribbon Cutting to officially start the Crawl with dignitaries at the American Sons of Columbus Hall (#1 on the map)

5pm-7pm---After Hours at American Sons of Columbus
2415 Independence Ave Kansas City, MO
Parking is available at above, behind Snyder's , behind Dairy Queen and at most of the participating businesses.

Also from 5pm-7pm---there is a neighborhood picnic at Independence Plaza Park 649 Brooklyn Avenue, Kansas City, MO (2 blocks west of Crawl).
Booths will be set up during the picnic to inform neighbors about community services, and neighborhood associations in the Northeast.
The picnic will also feature the mounted police, K-9 units, fire safety trailer, food, and drinks. Free to the public

 

August 18, Wednesday 6:30 Town Hall Meeting with Mayor Mark Funkhouser. This meeting is hosted by KC’s Grace Church of the Nazarene, 4300 Independence Ave. KCMO 64124. Church # 816-231-5138.  This is open to the public.

 

August 24, Tuesday Noon.  Monthly  Chamber Lunch.
